Thanks to all who supported my Nicaragua Trek

En route to the volcanoes of Omatepe on the trek

In September 2007 I trekked across Nicaragua from its Pacific Coast at San Juan del Sur to its Atlantic/Caribbean Coast at Bluefields to raise money for the British Heart Foundation and the Peace and Hope Trust which works with some of the poorest people in Central America. I did the trek with my colleague Peter Kilfoyle MP, his son Patrick, Jon Gill and our guide Peter Coleman.

I want to thank everyone who supported the trek financially and in many other ways. With your generosity I raised over £5,000 for these charities and between us our group raised over £30,000 – many, many thanks.

If anyone would still like to contribute you can send a cheque made out to ‘Nicaragua Trek’ to me at the House of Commons, London SW1A 0AA.
